School Paperwork
The 1st thing you do once you decide you will be homeschooling is to send a letter of intent to your school district. A copy can be found here.
Once you send that in, the school district will respond with an acceptance and send you papers for your IHIP along with the homeschool regulations. You do NOT have to fill out any papers they send you. A lot of the time they are asking for much more than what you LEGALLY have to give them! Make it as simple as you can. Give them easy. Keep all your detailed plans and what was accomplished for your child's records. You will either send it to the school or to where they ask you to send it. (Here in Livingston County it goes to a Boces program to be looked over).
Once they receive your IHIP, they will send you an in compliance letter saying it's been accepted! They can NOT tell you what programs to use or not use. They can NOT tell you what you are using is wrong! They DON'T get a say!
Then you just turn quarterly reports in when you said you would. They will send you an in compliance letter.
Below are copies of grades broken down. On each grade bracket, you will find IHIPs, quarterly reports and 4th quarter report and assessments.
Kindergarten
Elementary School Grades (1-6)
Middle School Grades (7-8)
High School Grades (9-12)
